Wall of Fame Gala is a success; evening events commence

By Laurie Enos, RPCN President

Congratulations to all of our 2017 RPCN Entrepreneur’s Wall of Fame Gala winners! Representing RPCN, both David Powe and Robin Dettman won awards. Our other award winners were Mike Molaire (a former RPCN member), Doug Mabon and Luis Martinez. All were deserving of the awards they won.

The gala was a wonderful event. Our keynote speaker, Alex Zapesochny, CEO and founder of iCardiac Technologies, Inc., told us how his family’s story led him to where he is and talked about the importance of consultants in his business. Ginny Ryan from WHAM Channel 13 did an excellent job as our emcee.

It’s not too soon to start thinking about who you would like to nominate next year for one of our Entrepreneur’s Wall of Fame awards!

Here are some pictures from the gala.

Our recent Member Survey told us that many members would like us to hold evening presentations, so both the Membership and Program committees are working diligently to produce evening events. The last day of the month will see one of those events.

Our recent Member Survey told us that many members would like us to hold evening presentations, so both the Membership and Program committees are working diligently to produce evening events. The last day of May saw one of those events.

On Wednesday, May 31, RPCN held “
Google Your Business” from 6:30–8:30PM at the Gates Public Library (902 Elmgrove Road). Our presenters for this evening workshop were RPCN members Bob Manard and Jerry Seward.

Grant-making pro Margit Brazda Poirier matches personal passion with business sense
By Ruth E. Thaler-Carter, RPCN Newsletter Chair

Margit Brazda Poirier, MS, GPC, of Mendon, NY, created her consulting business, Grants4Good LLC, in May of 2009 to “help nonprofit organizations and businesses find and get grants to make their work possible.” “We work with organizations to help them get more grants in less time through interactive training sessions, individual and group consultations, and assistance with finding grant opportunities and preparing grant proposals,” she said.

For Poirier, successful consulting all boils down to doing what you love and tying it to a strong business sense: “When your personal passion matches up with your business mission, you can enjoy the work, even when difficulties arise.”
