Major changes are coming to Medicare Advantage Plans in 2026. Many existing plans are being discontinued, and there will be fewer options available.
If you’re 65 or older and/or on Medicare, these changes are very likely to affect your coverage and costs.

Jane Ahrens has an MS in Health Education from SUNY Brockport. She has a NYS Life, Accident, and Health Broker License; AHIP Medicare National Certification; and is Certified to market Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap), and Part D Prescription Drug Plans.
Jane is also a Certified NYS CE instructor for Medicare
Jane Ahrens taught Health Education in Rochester area public schools for 25 years. Now, a retired teacher, Jane opened the Ahrens Benefits Company in 2008. Jane specializes in offering Medicare plans for seniors and health insurance plans for individuals and groups.
Jane works as an independent Medicare broker, marketing Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Supplement Plans and Part D plans for many insurance carriers. Her “Medicare 101” educational seminar has become very popular with Senior Centers, senior apartment complexes, libraries, and community centers and service organizations. Jane has mentored and coached her Medicare team which is now over 100 agents strong in several states.
Jane lives in Greece, New York, with her husband, Rex. They have been married for 48 years. Jane has two grown children and two grandchildren. Jane enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering at community non-profits, reading, cruising, going to live theatre, and returning to the Adirondacks every summer.
